Canonically as we know, Wriothesley murdered his adoptive/foster parents when he was young to protect his adoptive siblings from the abuse they were suffering at their parents hands.This account will focus heavily on the impact his upbringing and subsequent prison sentence has had on him as a person, delving into the whys of his insistence on rarely surfacing from the Fortress of Meropide.

Some general things to keep in mind when interacting with my Wriothesley.↠ He is stoic and stern and can come off as cold and uncaring, but he simply chooses to limit his attachments to others outside of a vague semblance of friendship to spare himself the guilt of never pulling himself away from his work.↠ Though he's not a stranger to sleeping around from time to time or developing a sort of "friends with benefits" relationship with people he may be close to, Wriothesley is not in the market for an actual relationship with any real substance because he doesn't want to deal with the complications that come from trying to maintain one.↠ Though he is sociable to a point, Wriothesley prefers solitude because it gives him time and space to think and recoup from a stressful day.↠ Though generally incredibly patient, Wriothesley can be irritated by constant interruptions to his work and may seem curt or short with people as a result.↠ Wriothesley is occasionally of the "fuck around and find out" persuasion and is often content to let people learn from their own mistakes, but that doesn't mean he isn't willing to help if he's asked depending on the situation.↠ Wriothesley suffers a little from depression because he so rarely leaves the Fortress and sees the sun. He does his best to combat it with diet and exercise, but there are times it hits him a little harder than others.↠ He has trust issues after his upbringing in his foster home. Though he tries to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, he tends to keep everyone at arms length until he knows without a doubt that they can be trusted not to cause undue harm either to himself or to others.↠ He does not like using his strength or status to lord over others or make them afraid of him. This is simply because he never wants to be the kind of person his foster parents were. There are exceptions to this, such as when someone is doing precisely what he refuses to do himself, in which case he will make a show of reminding them who he is and what he's capable of.↠ Given that Wriothesley spent a great deal of time on the streets before he landed himself in prison, he could often be described as "morally grey" simply because there are things he's willing to do or turn a blind eye to from time to time. Things like petty theft simply because something wasn't locked up or breaking in entering within reason for example.↠ He is very sarcastic and humorous without always meaning to be. He himself would say this is because he's seen the underbelly of the world and lived in its darkest places, so he's learned to develop a thicker skin to survive. Very much of the "you can't take everything so seriously all the time" mindset.
